Ultherapy Is Kinder, Gentler Manhattan Cosmetic Surgery

Ultherapy NYC

Cosmetic surgery has reached new heights in popularity this year. Cosmetic surgery is one of this year’s hottest holiday gifts. The desire to look good is universal. An ever-growing number of both women and men are turning to Manhattan facial plastic surgery to maintain an attractive appearance. An ever-growing number of people are making Manhattan facial plastic surgery a regular part of their normal beauty routine.

People used to wait until wrinkles and sagging skin became intolerable before visiting a Manhattan facial plastic surgeon. Today, New York men and women are taking a proactive approach to maintaining their appearance. Instead of waiting for fine lines to deepen into wrinkles and skin to start drooping, they are scheduling Ultherapy, Botox and New York City plastic surgery procedures as soon as they see the first indication that skin is breaking down.

Yet, despite the wide acceptance of facial plastic surgery as a beauty tool, there are still some people who are uncomfortable about using surgery to improve their appearance. These women and men seek a kinder, gentler approach to cosmetic surgery. Many say they have found what they’re looking for in Ultherapy.

Ultherapy is an amazing “non-surgical facelift” now available at ESK Facial Plastic Surgery in New York City. The kinder, gentler approach to facial plastic surgery that many people have been looking for, Ultherapy achieves its amazing results by targeting loose and drooping facial skin and with gentle ultrasound energy. The application of targeted energy triggers the body’s natural regenerative response, stimulating the growth of new collagen and restoring memory to skin and underlying support tissues. The result is beautiful, firmer, more youthful skin without surgery.

NY facial plastic surgery holiday giftFor the past few years, people have put off a lot of things hoping for a brighter day. If this holiday’s consumer buying patterns are any indication, many shoppers have decided that blue skies have finally arrived. After putting their wants on hold and doing without due to the shaky economy, Manhattan men and women are starting to go after what they truly want. Women and men who have been making do with Botox for the past few years are finally scheduling the Manhattan facial plastic surgery procedures they have been longing for. While Botox and other skin fillers are still extremely popular, demand for ultherapy, chin and cheek surgery, brow lifts, forehead lifts and eyelid surgery are on the rise.

Self gifting is also increasing. Most Americans are more willing to open their wallets during the holidays. We’re more generous in our gifts to others; and, this year, we are also being a little more generous to ourselves. We’re tired of tightening our belts and think we deserve a treat – and we’re right! After waiting and suffering over the past few years, we’ve decided that it’s time to stop cringing every time we look in the mirror and get the facelift we had planned to get before the economy took a nose dive.

If you’ve been putting off plastic surgery and non-surgical cosmetic options, it is time to act. Call ESK Facial Plastic Surgery today or submit your inquiry online to schedule a facial plastic surgery consultation with Dr. Kwak to discuss your personal goals and find out how plastic surgery can improve your appearance and give you the face you’ve always wanted.

NY Facial Plastic Surgery Could Give You the Edge You Need

NY facial plastic surgeryBeauty pays. That’s the message and title of a recently-published book by economist Daniel Hamermesh.

Published by Princeton University Press, Beauty Pays is the culmination of 20 years of study by the University of Texas-Austin economics professor. Hamermesh has devoted his career to studying the economic impact of beauty on society and, specifically, on the workplace. In a nutshell, his research shows that, just like the rest of us have always suspected, people who are physically beautiful do enjoy an easier life.

Compared to their plain Jane and average Joe co-workers, Hamermesh’s study found that, on the job front, beautiful people typically earn more money than their less-attractive peers – a lifetime average of $230,000 more! Beautiful people are also more likely to be hired, are hired for better jobs, are promoted more quickly, and move farther up the corporate ladder than other people.

On the social front, beautiful people were found to be happier, were better liked, had more friends, and were more self-confident than their plainer peers. The study also showed that attractive people have an easier time getting a bank loan and are generally able to obtain their loan at a lower interest rate than their beauty-challenged peers. Beautiful people were also more likely than people of average attractiveness to marry other beautiful people who were well-educated and had greater earning potential.

That’s great for the beautiful people, but what about the rest of us? In Hamermesh’s study, participants almost universally identified beauty as a symmetrical face. If your facial features are not symmetrical, a skilled Manhattan facial plastic surgeon can improve your facial symmetry and help you reach your appearance goals so you can enjoy the same edge that beautiful people are born with.

Inside our heads, we are all as young and beautiful as we feel.

It’s not until we see the actual physical evidence in a photograph that we realize the years have been slipping by faster than we thought. What You Need to Know About New York Botox Treatments

Botox ManhattanLow cost and zero recovery time have made Botox New York’s most popular facial cosmetic procedure (see our previous post). Botox eliminates moderate to severe facial wrinkles that form over time as the result of repetitious muscle movement. Botox is particularly effective on dynamic wrinkles that form on the forehead, between the eyebrows and around the eyes.

After Botox treatment, facial skin becomes smoother, unlined and younger-looking. Botox is a purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium. In a non-surgical procedure, tiny amounts of Botox are injected directly into the muscles that underlie facial wrinkles. Botox works by blocking the nerve impulses to the targeted muscles, decreasing the muscle movement that causes skin to wrinkle. Botox treatments typically take 10 minutes and require no recovery period. Discomfort during the procedure is minimal. Improvements in skin quality are usually evident within days with results lasting for up to 4 months, although this can vary from patient to patient.

Botox has become such a common cosmetic procedure that many people believe it to be an extremely safe, fairly benign treatment. However, the face is a delicate and complex area. If not performed by a highly trained, skilled and experienced NY facial plastic surgeon, any cosmetic facial procedure has the potential to cause permanent injury or disfigurement. Inexpertly performed Botox procedures have, in some cases, resulted in permanent nerve damage, leaving patients with a “frozen” face.

If you are considering Botox, make sure you obtain the attractive results you desire by scheduling your Botox treatment with a board-certified New York facial plastic surgeon like Dr. Edward Kwak. Dr. Kwak has the specialized medical training, practical experience and professional expertise required to ensure that Botox gives you the fresh, young, attractive appearance you desire.

Botox Is Most Popular Non-Surgical Procedure for NY Plastic Surgeons

Botox NYCSometimes referred to as an “instant facelift,” Botox is by far the most popular non-surgical facial cosmetic procedure in the U.S. with both women and men. Last year, more than 2.4 million Botox procedures were performed in the U.S., about 2.2 million on women and slightly more than 225,000 on men.

Female Botox patients still outnumber men 9 to 1; but since 1997 when a total of 65,157 Botox procedures were performed, Botox procedures for men have increased 500% more than Botox procedures for women. According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), between 1997 and 2010, Botox treatments for men increased 4171.7% while Botox for women increased 3592.9%.

Consistently ranked No. 1 on lists of NY facial plastic surgery procedures, Botox (Botulinum Toxin Type A) has been the runaway most popular non-surgical facial cosmetic procedure in Manhattan and the U.S. since 2000; even though it did not gain FDA approval until 2002. In the 9 years between 2002 and 2010, the total number of Botox procedures performed in the U.S. increased by more than 50% overall.

Reflecting the experience of Manhattan facial plastic surgeons, Botox use was heaviest among people between the ages of 35 and 50 when wrinkles and facial lines generally become more pronounced. Men and women ages 35 to 50 accounted for almost 49% of the total number of Botox procedures performed last year, according to the 2010 annual ASAPS survey of U.S. plastic surgeons. Men and women aged 51 to 64 accounted for slightly more than 29% of Botox patients in the U.S.; young adults aged 19 to 34 for 15%; seniors over 65 for 6.6%.
